Each member of the Vail School District Foundation, all volunteer board, is highly dedicated to the Vail School District.
The members of VSDF are also proud to serve the greater Vail Community at large. VSDF members each serve throughout the community in a variety of ways – The Vail School District Governing Board, volunteering in classrooms and on PTA’s, school Site Councils, Vail Chamber of Commerce, Vail Parent Network, Rincon Fire District Board, Santa Rita Foothills Community, Association, Citizens of Vail for Education, Southeast Pima County Library Association, Southeast Regional Council, Vail Pride Committee, and more.
STUART DOUGLASS – PRESIDENT
Stuart has been active in VUSD for almost 10 years in a variety of capacities. A respected and valued Vail parent, he was on the planning committee for Andrada High School, served on Andrada’s original Site Council and PTA, worked on the Andrada expansion committee, and has organized a number of fundraisers for the school and district.
LINDA FELTHEIM – VICE PRESIDENT
Both of Linda’s children went to Civano K-8 where she got highly involved with the school and the community. She has been a member of the Civano Site Council and Parent Council. She was also one of the founding members of the Vail Parent Network and has successfully advocated for over $1 million in additional funding for VUSD.
MARICO TIPPETT – TREASURER
MaRico retired from the Air National Guard less than a year ago as a Lieutenant Colonel and quickly became the first President and CEO of the Greater Vail Chamber of Commerce. He was also one of the founding members of the Vail Parent Network, where he advocated at the Arizona Legislature, and has presented throughout the Vail area on the reality of school funding in the state.
LINDA KUBIAK – SECRETARY
Linda is the Director of Community Programs for the Vail School District. In that capacity she oversees the after school programs at all the Vail Schools and runs intersession and summer programs for kids. She is also the Co-Chair of Vail Pride Day, and Vail Family University.
Ed has had a successful career in the field of safety and security, and still finds time to volunteer throughout the community. He is the President of the Santa Rita Foothills Community Association, is a member of the Pima County Library Association, the Southeast Regional Council, and above all is a proud Vail parent.
Kevin has worked in the Vail School District for over two decades. He has a proven track record of success in many roles – Principal of Desert Sky Middle School, Rincon Vista Middle School, CEO of Beyond Textbooks, and now Assistant Superintendent.
Darcy has worked for the Vail School District for 17 years, and has served in many roles. She was a 5th grade teacher and a Student Achievement Teacher at Sycamore Elementary, the Assistant Principal at Empire High School, the Principal of Andrada High School, and is now the Director of Communications and Public Affairs.
Rob is the Branch Manager at Guaranteed Rate Mortgage, is a proud Vail parent, and a member of the Corina de Tucson Community. He is passionate about the success of the Vail School District and the greater Vail community.
Mark spent a successful career at Raytheon in the field of supply chain. Upon retirement he wanted to transition from success to service and started volunteering in the community. He is a member of the Vail School District Governing Board, is a member of the Rincon Valley Fire Board, an active member of the Vail Chamber of Commerce, and can be found at any number of school and community events on any given day.
Stacy is the parent of three Vail students and has always been a staple at their schools. She has served as PTA President and chair for many events and committees. She is a member of the Vail Pride Day committee, and Citizens of Vail for Education. Stacy is also one of the founding members of the Vail Parent Network, has successfully advocated for over $1 million in additional funding for VUSD, and has presented on advocacy and public school funding throughout the state.
Mary Ann Cleveland – Honorary Member Mary Ann is a Vail legend, as noted by the name of the primary corridor that connects Del Lago to Rita Ranch – Mary Ann Cleveland Way. She is the mother and grandmother of VUSD graduates, and showed the Vail what effective advocacy looked like, when she took on the State of Arizona to get a road built that would make travel to and from school safe for Vail kids. In the end – Mary Ann got her way.
