Summary: To recognize an individual in the Vail School District who has made a difference through community service.
Presentation: Vail Pride Day
Background: Our young leaders are contributing to the community by living and modeling humility through serving others. Vail youth are extending their own personal boundaries by reaching out and demonstrating a kindness for humanity.
Objective: The Service Award will recognize a Vail School District student that has actively participated in outstanding service to the community. The community-minded individual will demonstrate initiative, courage and compassion to positively impact our community. This award will be presented to an individual that leads by example in making a difference through intentionally caring for others.
Whom may apply: Any student of the Vail School District may submit an application to receive this award.
- Student that has participated in volunteer community service
- Be a high school senior in the Vail School District that plans to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university or trade school
- Fill out a scholarship award application
- Submit at least two letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a Vail School District staff member
Selection: A selection committee reviews all scholarship applications and forwards recommendations to the VSDF Board which determines which student(s) receive a scholarship.
